Tomlinson Hall Receives
Mayor’s Civic Award
We are delighted to have received a Mayor’s Civic Award in recognition of the company’s contribution to the local community.
Tomlinson Hall is honoured to have been awarded in the business category for ‘Service to the Community’ by our Mayor, Councillor Lynn Hall.
The Major’s Civic Awards is an open nomination scheme, designed for anyone to nominate a resident, group or business within the Borough that meet the criteria for different award categories.
To receive an award, nominees must have made a significant achievement in the area, such as enhancing the reputation of the Borough at national level.
As giving back to the local community is of significant importance to Tomlinson Hall – and is firmly embedded throughout the full company - it is great to receive recognition for our contributions.
This has included our longstanding relationship with Billingham South Primary School where we have continuously supported the school over the past few years with several ongoing charitable activities, as well as actively promote STEM activities with the children. We have also regularly contributed and supported with local sports clubs, particularly those that hold an interest for staff in the business.
Last year, in recognition of 100 years in business, Tomlinson Hall launched our very own 100 for 100 campaign which seen the company choose a combination of 12 local and national charitable good causes to support. Each of these received 100 sought-after items and donation – every month throughout the year – and included organisations like The James Cook University Hospital, The People’s Kitchen, Make a Wish Foundation and Help for Heroes. Gifts varied from 100 baby grows through to 100 sleeping bags, as well as the two teams at TH each participating in a 100-mile bike challenge which raised £200.
This year we are very pleased to have selected our chosen charity as Teesside Hospice and have launched an employee initiative to support this. As a Corporate Partner, the staff has and will continue to host various events throughout the year to contribute to this fantastic charity.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Michelle Gunn, Senior Member Services Officer at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council for visiting Tomlinson Hall offices to safely present our Mayor’s Civic Award, due to the award ceremony being cancelled this year amidst the Covid-19 outbreak.
We would also like to thank all of the staff for their ongoing contributions to our CSR activities and the great team work that goes into all of our charitable activities.
