£29 million of planet-friendly investment by 2029

With time running out for the planet and the UN Climate Change Conference just weeks away, AES Engineering Ltd Group is making an historic commitment to £29 million of planet-friendly investment by 2029 in order to go beyond Net Zero for its global business.

By committing to take the global company beyond Net Zero (we have already gone beyond Net Zero in the UK business) and explaining how we are going to do it, we believe we will provide a road map for other companies and organisations who share our concern about ethical, balanced and sustainable development.

On current plans, as a result of existing investments, and the company’s audited contribution to helping global industries to save energy, water and reduce pollution, we are almost certain we can prove that we will have reached beyond Net Zero for the global group by 2022.

However, as a result of a unanimous Board decision, we have decided not to stop there and have approved an investment strategy up until 1 April 2029 that is designed to set a new ‘gold standard’ for business engagement in the battle against global warming.

This commitment builds on the company’s backing of the Betterworld.Solutions campaign, aimed at encouraging global industry to adopt an Investment Policy to Prevent Global Warming in parallel with the campaign’s headline sponsorship of the Yorkshire Post Climate Change event accompanying the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference, which takes place in Glasgow on 1 November.

AES Engineering Ltd intends to lead by example and encourage sharing of best practice by demonstrating what is both practical and possible by outlining specific dates, targets, times, amounts and investment.

Between now and 1 November I will be doing daily blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn and selected email communications on Net Zero and Beyond for the AES Engineering Ltd. Group. There will also be a series of video diaries posted on YouTube and TikTok as well as a co-ordinated analogue, print and audio-visual media campaign.

These communications will include details about audited or auditable actions, not meaningless promises and are intended to showcase the art of the possible.

With the future of our children and grandchildren at stake we need to take more action, on environmental projects, now to provide them with a better world.
